"we’ve spent so long aestheticizing rest that we’ve forgotten the point of it. the best moments of leisure don’t look like much. they’re not photogenic. they’re not impressive. (...) because they exist only in the body, not the feed. because they ask for nothing and give us back ourselves." Wow wow wow 🥹

As a new mom, I felt this sooooo hard bc rest while your mind is constantly racing or you’re overly burnt out is so difficult.

I love this, thank you!💜 I have this belief (I don't know where from), that I have to EARN my rest, & if I haven't done a,b,c whatever, then I don't 'deserve' it. Not sure where this stems from, but it's a work in progress! 😅

I feel this!! I'm getting ready for my final terms of highschool, doing all my internal assessment before my external exams (Australians, think midterms and sats?? idek) and I always feel so guilty for resting. loved this 🥹

Real talk about how do we see rest and leisure-the guilt. Such a validating piece! Speaking what my heart and mind speaks out.
