there’s a particular kind of home that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into someone’s inner world rather than a furniture catalogue, a place where the rooms keep telling you small stories if you’re willing to linger.
This is absolutely beautiful, but challenging for me as I live on a narrow boat that measures 60' × 6' 10"
Our boat was built to our specification and although it's a small space, we have crisp white bedlinen, good quality towels, a good coffee machine, a handmade sofa, crockery that we enjoy using and a wood burning stove for the winter. We love our home and try to add things that enhance the space, like fresh flowers each week. A lovely read 🥰 Karen
I love tucking a little library into a quiet corner. a cozy chair draped with sheepskin, a side table with a beeswax flickering candle, and stacks of books just waiting to be explored. And of course, a cup of tea… if you fancy one.
Love this! I have just recently moved into a new home and I can’t help myself painting little snippets of wall with blackboard paint for my son but also for me to be creative. I think I am loving it more than my son! lol I have also found an old retro unit that someone was throwing out and with a bit of a clean and polish has come up lovely and has a mixture of mine and my Grandmas things (old and new) along with pictures of my son. A house for me is definitely a home to look forward to coming back to and being lived in. Thanks again for your piece.
Beautiful article. It all resonates with me. I decorate like this. I name corners of the house. I thought I was the only one quirky enough to do that. Vignettes, vignettes, vignettes. I love the small special spaces that add whimsy and charm to every room.

So much resonates with my home and some lovely reminders of why it makes sense!
"create little worlds inside big rooms" - love that so much!
Wonderful! Sweet and lovely words!
This is gold. To be savoured practically and gradually.
Am in love of your way of describing each detail with your own wonderful words ...✨
Love all these beautiful ideas! ✨
Loving all of this! Thank you for sharing
I think my favorite is #3.

One of the most beautiful pieces of writing I have read in my lifetime. Thank you for sharing this.
