ugh i swear you're my favorite author here on substack, your posts are always relatable π«Άπ» also, I love number 6 so much! Just letting experience be experience, it doesn't always have to be a lesson or something meaningful, thank you for the reminder!
This was so beautifully written. From my own experience, much of the inner exploration starts with the outside exploration. Living in different countries has really opened my eyes to different perspectives and to exploring my inner self. Questioning my way of living, ideas that we grow up with. But there are so many ways to start the journey of inner exploration! π
This is wonderful - a novel concept to just stop, be ourselves, be with ourselves, discover ourselves. We are so conditioned by our external world that it's easy to lose sight of what makes each of us so unique and beautiful. To give ourselves "permission" to experience who we are without interruption and outside pressure is such a lovely freedom. Thank you for this!
Internal exploration is what I learned through years of jungian therapy. I grew and continue to grow more than I could comprehend possible. There was so much more to me than what I claimed and there remains so much learning and growing and experimenting possible. My world has opened wide.
I am a traveler. When money permits I'll hit the skies in search of the next museum, cuisine, and street scene. My most interesting travel, however, is within.
Thank you for posting this essay. It validates the work I've done and continue to do.
This is absolutely lovely! The wonder in the tone and the whimsy in the approach. What if we did explore ourselves more? What if we did approach ourselves with and open mind and no pre-determined expectations? This speaks to me do much, as this is the trail my mind walks down. We are kindred spirits, you and I.
I liked the point "collect experiences for the sake of experiencing them" most. When I was younger my mother always asked me what I learnt from activities/clubs/events; it was tiring to think that everything had to have a profound lesson rather then just wanting to try something new.
